Although widespread throughout the territory of Quebec, it is rare and often absent from some regions.
Prefers damp areas often flooded in spring.
Its name "Toothwort" come from the shape of its rhizome that looks like a tooth.
The Two-leaved Toothwort is declared species vulnerable to harvest in Quebec.
The occurrences of this species are not to be reported.
On the other hand, avoid picking.
